The water tower was built in 1970. It is 45,5m high, each ball has a volume of 500 m3. Additional lighting on the structure was never an option, as the architect obstructed all such initiatives. Today there are no more restrictions. In cooperation with Brabant Water we developed a concept for a projection during GLOW 2024.
Could we show the process of making drinking water, without written text or additional explanation? Pumping op rain water but also desalinate seawater, delivering fresh drinking water for everybody. Merging technology, skills and experience, we considered making drinking water as a form of art.
Giving us the possibility to show the processes in our ‘own’ way. The challenges in our design were choosing the right perspective and sphere distortion, watch for yourself:
